By far, one of the biggest benefits of your investment in this wonderful profession is advocacy efforts needed at the state and national level. The CCA advocates on your behalf through its Executive Director, President, Public Policy and Legislative Committee, and the Governing Council.
Our members benefit from this professional advocacy at local, state, and national levels. Each year, CCA sends governing council executive members to the ACA Leadership Institute to lobby for professional counselors on Washington D.C. Capitol Hill. The CCA members have access to regular updates on what is happening in state mental health related legislation via our Members Only Legislative Newsletter.

Continuing Education Opportunities
There are a variety of educational opportunities provided through the CCA. These events support professional counselors, counselors-in-training, clinical supervisors, and counselor educators. Professional identity as a counselor is promoted by the CCA and our parent organization, the ACA. The CCA is in the top 10 largest state branches in the country.
