The mission of the Colorado Counseling Association is to promote the counseling profession in Colorado through legislative advocacy, education resources, and outreach to future leaders in our field.
The CCA has eight Governing Council positions open for nominees: Secretary, Northern Region Liaison, Western Region Liaison, Southern Region Liaison, Student & Volunteer Coordinator, the Counselor Education and Supervision Liaison, the LGBTQ Division President-Elect, and the President Elect-Elect position.
Open Governing Council Positions
Secretary
The secretary supports the President and Executive Director and all Governing Council Meetings.
Northern, Southern, and Western Region Liaisons
These three Liaison positions represent the needs and interests of professional counselors in their respective region of Colorado through advocacy and voting rights on the Governing Council.
Counselor Education and Supervision (CES) Liaison
The CES Liaison is an expert in their respective field and prepares CCA members accordingly. The CES Liaison collaborates with the President-Elect to schedule trainings and articles that ultimately empower counselor educators and supervisors.
Student and Volunteer Coordinator
The Student and Volunteer Coordinator oversees the Student Conference while representing the needs of Colorado student professional counselors to the Governing Council. Furthermore, this coordinator position leads all volunteers at the CCA Annual Conference.

LGBTQ Division President-Elect
In 2021, the CCA Governing Council adopted bylaws for a Colorado branch of SAIGE. The LGBTQ Division is the precursor of this new state branch of SAIGE, and is expected to transition to CO-SAIGE (Colorado SAIGE) in 2023 when final approval has been given.
